Wouldn’t it be nice to think that our realities can be altered, that physical and emotional conditions can be changed easily, that patterns can be broken, fears subdued.   In a world in which agriculture is genetically modified, photographs changed with the click of a mouse, and clouds seeded with rain, you would think that we would have learned a technique to foster similar, radical change within us.
